Solemnize Your Move with Sprinkles of Charity
Do you think you have too much stuff? Here’s why you should consider reducing your luggage and bringing fewer items to your new home:
– Decluttering is a fantastic way to make room for new valuables at your new home.
– Reduced luggage will lower the cost of moving and everything will be easier to pack.
But where would you keep your things after decluttering? Dare we suggest donating them to those less fortunate than you? This is an added bonus California Movers will offer its esteemed customers.
If you work with our company, we can make a pit stop at your favorite donation center to drop off the stuff you’ve decided to give away to your fellow human beings. This stuff may include:
Here’s how it works:
Get Confirmation: Some donation centers run on capacity and often don’t have enough storage space for all donated items. So, you would have to get clearance approval first, especially if you want us to drop off large items such as furniture. Also, some places will offer free pick-up services for furniture items in larger quantities.
Ensure Delivery Time: Some donation centers specify certain days for folks looking forward to dropping off donated items. So, we also have to follow this window and request that you keep this scheduling in mind. It’ll ensure donated items are accepted by your favorite donation centers.
Community Thrift: It is an independent non-profit establishment that accepts donations between 10 AM to 5 PM. If you want to discard your furniture, then consider Community Thrift as the preferred donation center. They are located at the Sycamore Alley, but always make an appointment before sending your excess items their way.
Salvation Army: The Salvation Army is the perfect place to donate your furniture. If you have extra clothing, appliances, household goods, etc., send them their way. They also accept automobiles. They are open five days a week (Monday to Friday), so please remember this schedule when requesting us to drop off your items at the Salvation Army.
Friends of the San Francisco Public Library: If you have old books, rotten manuscripts, yellowed pages, or unused dictionaries taking up space at your home, get in touch with the Friends of the SFPL to give your books a new home. But you will have to book an appointment online.
Children’s Book Project: You can donate children’s books to this charity. But they only operate during limited hours: from 3:30 PM to 6 PM on Mondays & Thursdays, for two hours on Wednesdays, and every month’s first Saturday.

Out of the Closet: You can donate your clothes (both men’s and women’s), shoes, electronics, and other items here. But they don’t accept mattresses, towels, or medical supplies in any case.

Urban Angels: This donation place accepts more than toys. Visit their site, and you’ll see a long list of items they accept from generous donors.
SF Recycles: It’s a great place where you can donate your items and household goods for recycling.
Craigslist: Aside from donating stuff, another fantastic idea would be selling your belongings to someone who probably needs them more than you do. So, you can find multiple sellers for your worn-out items on Craigslist.
Excess Access: If you don’t want to go through donation centers and wish to meet the needy directly, Excess Access connects those in need with those in surplus. They will help you assist the underprivileged without the middleman.
